Lost-Five Minute Friday

I am participating in Lisa-Jo Baker’s 5 Minute Friday, where you write for 5 minutes unedited. Whatever comes out is what gets posted!

Today’s word is lost.

I can’t help but think of the lyrics: “I once was lost but now I am found, was blind but now I see” from Amazing Grace.  That is immediately what I think of.

God loves to find things. Do you remember the parable of the lost coin?  The woman searched for it and rejoiced over finding her one lost coin. I also think of the story of the prodigal son who lost his way…but found his way back home to his loving father.

Lord, find me when I lose my way. Sometimes I don’t know how to find my way back to you. I lose my step and I stumble. Please catch me.  In your precious name Jesus I pray, Amen.

See Luke 15 for God’s thoughts on lost things: The parable of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son.

I love that the first thing you thought of was the song “Amazing Grace”; that’s such a powerful moment in the song. You also prayed a beautiful, honest prayer too; thank you. 🙂
